Russo-Ukrainian War Protest, Studio City
Members of LA’s Ukrainian and Russian communities protest against Putin’s invasion of Ukraine
Los Angeles, CA - At Andrei Sakharov Square, members of LA’s Ukrainian and Russian communities demonstrated against Putin’s invasion of Ukraine. Hours earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin had ordered an attack on the sovereign nation-- drawing condemnation from people across the globe, including many Russians.
Here in Studio City, a young man burned the Russian flag in protest of his homeland’s actions. The intersection on Ventura Boulevard was a fitting location for the demonstration, dedicated in 1991 to Sakharov (1921-1989), a beloved Russian nuclear physicist and peace advocate.
